PCS Extension to Hata ModelCOST-231 Model (1500~2000 MHz)EURO-COST group(Co-operative for Scientific and Technical research) “Urban transmission loss models for mobile radio in the 900 and 1800 MHz band” rev.2, the Hague, Sep. 1991.
Empirical path loss formula:
A(dB)=46.3+39.9Log(F)-13.82 Log(H1) -a (H2)+(44.9-6.55 Log(H)) Log(D)-C
F= Frequency in Mhz (1500~2000 MHz)
D=Distance between base station and terminal in km (1~20 km)
H1 =Effective height of base station antenna in m (30~200 m)
H2=Effective height of mobile station antenna in m (1~10 m)
a (H2)=the correction factor for effective mobile antenna which is function of the size of the coverage area
C=Environment correction factor
= 2 dB for dense urban environment (buildings greater than 7 floors, medium and small streets)
= 5 dB for medium urban environment (medium buildings of 5 floors, medium and small streets)
= 8 dB for medium urban environment and wide streets
= 10 dB for suburban environment with small buildings
= 20 dB for mixed rural and villages
= 23 dB for rural with a few trees and quasi no hills
