• a special type of CPFSK

• the peak freq. deviation is equal

to half the bit rate, i.e., 2 Df/Rb=

0.5

• in other words, MSK is a CPFSK

with modulation index 0.5

• the word “minimum” implies the

minimum frequency seperation

that allows orthogonal detection
