DECT in Comparison DECT vs. PACS
- PACS is an American standard targeted for the widest possible communication range. For this reason PACS infrastructure costs, especially in environments with high densities of subscribers and traffic, are significantly greater than with DECT.
- Because of its range, PACS is really only a competitor to DECT for Wireless Local Loop applications. However, PACS does not allow any dynamic channel allocation.
- Due to its different heritage, PACS also does not interface well to ISDN and GSM, and does not cover the same range of application as DECT does.
